These baths were used in some films. They were originally a part of a garden with an orangery, but after an earthquake they were filled in to support the overhead structures

Cathedral Seville

We are staying in a hotel just close to the cathedral in the old Jewish quarter. Lots of fantastic tapas bars around and close to the Reales Alkazares of Seville.

All along the roads are these huge metal statues of bulls and matadors. Left Cordova in pouring rain, but the day cleared and the rain stopped. We arrived in Seville in early afternoon but encountered the same challenges finding the car entry to the old city. Eventually found our way.

The Cathedral of Cordoba

This amazing cathedral started out as an ancient Christian temple. It was then destroyed in 785 and a mosque was constructed. In 1236 Spain was reconquered and a chapel was constructed under the main dome of the mosque. The juxtaposition of the former mosque and the cathedral within s fascinating.

Drove to Toledo, about an hour south of Madrid. This is a view from the old city over the rooftops. We had a very quick view of the cathedral before sitting down to lunch in a square.

A famous chocolate shop in Madrid where we enjoyed churros and chocolate.

We went into this packed bar on the main pedestrian mall. At one counter was the most amazing array if hams and small goods for sale. At a big central counter were. Basic tapas with the same array if hams and cheeses, and beers for 70 euro cents. Delicious and fun.
