Greenwich Village New York

Woke up to drizzle so the early moring walk in Central Park was flagged. Breakfast on the terrace overlookink Central Park instead. Met up with Gin and Nick and went down to a great cafe - 'Jo the Art of Coffee'. Huddled in this vibrant spot in Greenwich Village out of the rain and cold. Went for a short walk around this charming area before the weather got the better of us.

Photography Outing

On Sunday I went with Ange and the photography group to Freo for a practical session. There was an Indian food festival on which provided a lot of interest. We just wandered around the town and discussed various photo opportunities, and how to make the most of the subjects around us. I liked this photo of Angela as she lined up to get a curry.

Cafe Cafe

We met up with the family for breakfast and coffee after the Kings Park run. It was actually really cold sitting outside - there wasn't room for us all inside. We did enjoy ourselves even though the breakfast was greasy as usual. We will all catch up again for Mothers Day when we get back from the states.

Last Run in Kings Park

This morning Andy went for his last run in Kings Park. This Sunday morning run is a longstanding tradition. Since commencement of training for the marathon, Andy has tried to increase the pace and push himself a little harder in this run. Trevor, his running mate, sets the pace. Today was a perfect morning - crisp and cool. The birds were loud in their morning chorus in the Kings Park bushland. The 9.7km run took 61 minutes - 4 minutes off his best ever time.

Boston Marathon Equipment

This is what the champions wear, note the gold trim adds to the speed.

Boston Marathon Countdown - 17 Days to Go

Andy did his last big run today - 21k. He left home at about 6.15am and ran via Kings Park to Leederville. He met me at Sayers 2 hours 24 minutes later. His faithful running partner Trevor turned up and joined him for a coffee when I went off to Greek classes nearby. He seemed pretty happy with his time.
