Statue of Liberty

After breakfast we headed downtown on the subway to Whitehall Street. Here we hopped on a free ferry to Satten Island. he ferry goes straight past the Statue of Liberty. As well as some great views of the statue we got a fantastic view looking back at Manhatten Island. It was just freezing. I had 3 layers with thermals, gloves, scarf and coat and my fingers still went numb. It was such a comedy when we reached Statten Island. The ferries run 30 minutely for a 30 minute trip. We had about 3 minutes to disembark, go thought the terminal at Statten Island and get on the return boat. we made it with about 10 others because Gin had given us instructions how to do it - otherwise we would have wasted half an hour on the island. It was a great excursion and the views fantastic.
